Functional features
Our cutting-edge insulation materials exhibit remarkable resistance to degradation caused by high-voltage arc activity. Normally, a standard arc flame begins carbonizing the material's surface until it becomes conductive. The exact time for the arc to extinguish is measured in seconds. Employing two tungsten electrodes placed precisely on the sample plate, the arc initiates intermittently, progressively shortening until forming a continuous arc as the current rises. The material is gradually subjected to increasingly severe arc conditions, ultimately leading to failure. Arc resistance is crucial for insulating materials in high-voltage switches or low-voltage high-current switches, which frequently encounter arcs during operation. Only materials with exceptional arc resistance are deemed suitable.
In the realm of electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials exposed to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges reveal distinctive surface damage variations near the arc. Such discharges cause localized thermal and chemical deterioration and corrosion, ultimately forming a conductive pathway on the material. Once a conductive channel emerges, the material is considered to have failed the test.
The Arc Resistance Tester is aligned with standards such as GB1411, IEC61621, ASTM C495, and UL746A, making it an indispensable instrument for conducting simulated safety testing procedures.
Engineered to meet rigorous standard requirements, the arc resistance tester features comprehensive electrical schematics and high-precision electrodes.
