Functional features
Our cutting-edge insulation materials exhibit outstanding resistance to degradation caused by high-voltage arc activity. Typically, a standard arc flame initiates carbonization on the material's surface, transforming it until it becomes conductive. The duration for the arc to extinguish is precisely measured in seconds. Utilizing two tungsten electrodes placed at a specific interval on the sample plate, the arc begins intermittently, progressively shortening until it forms a continuous arc as the current increases. The material is subjected to increasingly severe arc conditions, leading to eventual failure. Arc resistance is a critical property for insulating materials in high-voltage switches or low-voltage high-current switches, which commonly encounter arcs during usage. Only materials demonstrating exceptional arc resistance are suitable.
In the realm of electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials exposed to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges exhibit distinctive surface damage variations near the arc. These discharges cause localized thermal and chemical degradation and corrosion, eventually creating a conductive pathway on the material. Once a conductive channel forms, the material is deemed to have failed the test.
The Arc Resistance Tester is aligned with international standards such as GB1411, IEC61621, ASTMC495, and UL746A, making it an essential instrument for conducting simulated safety testing procedures.
Expertly engineered to meet rigorous standard requirements, the arc resistance tester features comprehensive electrical schematics and high-precision electrodes, offering unparalleled accuracy and reliability.
