Functional features
Plastic hardness is crucial in assessing the durability of plastic materials against penetration by non-elastic, non-plastic objects. This essential attribute is a primary indicator of material longevity and superior quality.
The plastic ball indentation hardness test is a precise procedure that uses a steel ball of a specified diameter to press into the sample surface with a calculated test load. After a preset duration, the depth of the indentation is measured, and the hardness is determined using computational methods or standardized tables.
1. The sample thickness must be at least 4mm. The loading speed can be adjusted within a range of 2-7 seconds, typically set between 4-6seconds. The available loading times are 30 seconds or 60 seconds.;The load size is carefully selected based on the sample's hardness. For higher hardness samples, a larger load is required, whereas lower hardness samples need a smaller load. If the sample's hardness is unknown, it is recommended to start with a minimal load to avoid damaging the steel ball indenter and the sample.; To achieve optimal results, ensure that testing adheres to the specified sample parameters when selecting the load.
2. Ball indentation hardness measures the average pressure per unit area when a specified diameter steel ball is pressed vertically into the sample surface with a consistent load. This measurement is expressed in Kgf/mm2 or N/mm2.
