Functional features
Our advanced insulation materials showcase extraordinary resilience against degradation induced by high-voltage arc activity. Normally, a standard arc flame leads to carbonization on the material's surface, eventually turning it conductive. The precise time for the arc to extinguish is accurately measured in seconds. With two tungsten electrodes placed at a calculated interval on the sample plate, the arc begins intermittently and progressively shortens until it forms a continuous arc as the current intensifies. The material then faces increasingly severe arc conditions, resulting in eventual failure. Arc resistance is crucial for insulating materials used in high-voltage switches or low-voltage high-current switches, which frequently encounter arcs during operation. Only those materials that exhibit outstanding arc resistance are deemed suitable.
In the field of electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials subjected to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges display unique surface damage patterns near the arc. These discharges bring about localized thermal and chemical deterioration and corrosion, ultimately creating a conductive pathway on the material. Upon formation of a conductive channel, the material is considered to have failed the test.
The Arc Resistance Tester complies with standards such as GB1411, IEC61621, ASTM C495, and UL746A, rendering it an indispensable tool for conducting simulated safety testing procedures.
Meticulously designed to meet stringent standard requirements, the arc resistance tester boasts comprehensive electrical schematics along with high-precision electrodes, ensuring precise and reliable testing results.
