Functional features
Our advanced insulation materials display exceptional resistance to the degradation caused by high-voltage arc activity. Typically, a standard arc flame begins carbonization on the material's surface, transforming it until conductivity is achieved. The time taken for the arc to extinguish is accurately measured in seconds. Utilizing two tungsten electrodes placed at a specified interval on the sample plate, the arc initiates intermittently, progressively shortening until it forms a continuous arc as the current increases. The material faces increasingly intense arc conditions, ultimately leading to failure. Arc resistance is crucial for insulating materials in high-voltage switches or low-voltage high-current switches, which frequently encounter arcs during operation. Only materials with outstanding arc resistance are deemed suitable.
In the sphere of electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials subjected to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges exhibit unique surface damage variations near the arc. These discharges cause localized thermal and chemical degradation and corrosion, eventually forming a conductive pathway on the material. Once this conductive channel emerges, the material is classified as having failed the test.
The Arc Resistance Tester complies with standards such as GB1411, IEC61621, ASTMC495, UL746A, making it an indispensable instrument for executing simulated safety testing procedures.
Meticulously engineered to adhere to rigorous standard requirements, the arc resistance tester offers comprehensive electrical schematics and high-precision electrodes.
