Functional features
Our insulation materials exhibit exceptional resilience against degradation from high-voltage arc interactions. Typically, a standard arc flame induces a carbonization process on the material's surface, eventually leading it to become conductive. The arc's duration is precisely measured in seconds. Utilizing two tungsten electrodes positioned at an optimal distance on the sample plate, initially, the arc manifests intermittently. It then progressively shortens, evolving into a continuous arc with escalating current levels. Under progressively severe arc conditions, the material ultimately succumbs to failure. Arc resistance is paramount for insulating materials used in high-voltage switches or low-voltage high-current switches, as these are frequently exposed to arcs during operational use. Only those materials which demonstrate superior arc resistance are viable options.
In electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials exposed to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges exhibit distinct surface damage near the arc. These discharges lead to localized thermal and chemical breakdown and corrosion, eventually creating a conductive channel on the material. Once such a channel forms, the material is deemed to have failed the standard test.
The Arc Resistance Tester adheres to industry standards such as GB1411, IEC61621, ASTMC495, and UL746A. It serves as an indispensable instrument for conducting simulated safety testing procedures.
Engineered in compliance with rigorous standard requirements, the arc resistance tester integrates comprehensive electrical schematics and precision-engineered electrodes.
