Functional features
Our insulation materials are renowned for their exceptional resistance to degradation from high-voltage arc activity. Typically, a standard arc flame causes carbonization on the material's surface until it becomes conductive. This sophisticated system measures the exact time taken for the arc to cease, providing critical insights. Utilizing two tungsten electrodes positioned at a precise distance on the sample plate, initially, the arc is intermittent. It gradually shortens over time, eventually leading to a continuous arc with rising current. The material faces increasingly severe arc conditions, culminating in failure. Arc resistance is essential for insulating materials in high-voltage switches or low-voltage, high-current switches, which frequently encounter arcs during operation. Only materials with superior arc resistance are deemed suitable.
When employed within electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials exposed to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges display distinct surface damage alterations near the arc. These discharges induce localized thermal and chemical breakdown and corrosion, ultimately forming a conductive pathway on the material. Once this conductive channel is established, the material is considered to have failed the test.
The Arc Resistance Tester conforms to standards such as GB1411, IEC61621, ASTMC495, UL746A, making it an indispensable instrument for rigorous simulated safety testing procedures.
Crafted to meet stringent standard requirements, the arc resistance tester features intricate electrical schematics and precision electrodes, ensuring accurate and reliable testing results.
