Functional features
Our state-of-the-art insulation materials boast outstanding resistance to degradation from high-voltage arc activity. Typically, an arc flame initiates carbonization on the material's surface, progressively altering it until it conducts electricity. The precise time taken for the arc extinguishment is recorded in seconds. Equipped with two tungsten electrodes strategically placed on the sample plate, the arc intermittently begins, shortening progressively until it forms a continuous arc with increased current. Materials endure harsher arc conditions, leading to eventual failure. Arc resistance is crucial for insulating materials used in high-voltage switches or low-voltage high-current switches that frequently face arcs during operation. Only materials with superior arc resistance are deemed suitable.
In the sphere of electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials exposed to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges show distinct surface damage patterns near the arc. These discharges cause localized thermal and chemical degradation and corrosion, eventually creating a conductive path in the material. Once a conductive channel is established, the material is considered to have failed.
The Arc Resistance Tester conforms to standards like GB1411, IEC61621, ASTMC495, UL746A, making it an indispensable tool for executing simulated safety testing protocols.
Designed to meet stringent standard specifications, the arc resistance tester boasts a comprehensive set of electrical schematics and high-precision electrodes.
