Functional features
Our insulation materials boast exceptional resistance to degradation from high-voltage arc activity. Typically, a standard arc flame induces carbonization on the material's surface until it becomes conductive. The time taken for the arc to cease is measured in seconds. By employing two tungsten electrodes spaced at a specific distance on the sample plate, initially, the arc is intermittent. It then gradually shortens, culminating in a continuous arc with increasing current. The material undergoes progressively harsh arc conditions, ultimately leading to failure. Arc resistance is crucial for insulating materials in high-voltage switches or low-voltage high-current switches, as these are frequently subjected to arcs during operation. Only materials with exceptional arc resistance are viable choices.
When used inside electrical and electronic devices, insulating materials exposed to high-voltage, low-current arc discharges exhibit distinct variations in surface damage near the arc. Such discharges result in localized thermal and chemical breakdown and corrosion, eventually forming a conductive pathway on the material. Upon forming a conductive channel, the material is deemed to have failed the test.
The Arc Resistance Tester aligns with standards such as GB1411, IEC61621, ASTMC495, UL746A, serving as an indispensable instrument for simulated safety testing procedures.
Crafted according to stringent standard requirements, the arc resistance tester incorporates detailed electrical schematics and precision electrodes.
